Message from the Founder
As the creator of Cocoro Colors, I’d like to take a moment to share a bit of my personal story with you.
There was a time in my life when I was hospitalized in a psychiatric ward.
I struggled deeply with communication—I couldn’t express how I felt, and I withdrew into myself.
But then, I discovered something that changed everything: art.
Through lines and colors—rather than words—I found a way to express myself.
I found the courage to want to be understood.
And eventually, I learned how to understand others, too—through their drawings.
Today, I work as an artist.
And I created Cocoro Colors to offer children a gentle way to express their emotions through drawing—and to help parents and caring adults connect with those feelings in a warm, supportive way.
Children’s drawings often hold feelings and wishes they don’t yet have words for.
I wanted to create a space where those feelings could be received—without judgment, without pressure, just as they are.
Cocoro Colors is also the kind of place that “the younger me, who couldn’t speak,” always wished had existed.
Through art, I hope children will feel that it’s okay to be themselves.
And I hope the adults around them will feel just a little more confident and reassured in how they care for them.
That is the heart behind this service.
